I also created the main logo for the site, which I still like quite a bit, even though I was asked to work a word balloon in originally, against my wishes. The compromise is the double balloon here, which references the hurricane symbol, which I felt was appropriate given what we wanted to do with the site. Mostly I wanted something simple and iconic, that would work in the color scheme I implemented for the entire site and show up well across all media platforms. It’s an easy image to stamp on things, and it stands out pretty well, even when it’s a tiny favicon.
